Reversing the environmental degradation |
|
Farming communities contribute to the increasing degradation of the environment through indiscriminate dumping of agricultural and livestock wastes. The resulting air and water pollution pose sanitation problems, endanger the health of residents, especially the children, and increase emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
To reverse this situation, there is a need to enable communities to implement bio-energy projects to sustain their environment. These projects will allow communities to practice proper waste management and even derive useful waste by-products which will also enhance their livelihood or productivity.
Realizing this need, the AsiaBIO Group Foundation Inc. aims to assist communities in this endeavor through information and capacity-building activities, and through providing access to appropriate and affordable waste-to-energy technologies.
